Bradley S. Hochstetler, MD

Bradley S. Hochstetler, MD is a fellowship-trained and  board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and cataract surgery.  He practices at Traverse City Eye locations in Traverse City and Cadillac, Michigan.

Dr. Hochstetler completed his Ophthalmology residency at Penn State Hershey Eye Center followed by a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD.  He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and an undergraduate degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  

Prior to his ophthalmology training, Dr. Hochstetler served as a US Air Force Flight surgeon with the 366th Medical Group and 389th Fighter Squadron from 2003-2007.  

Since arriving in Traverse City in 2011, Dr. Hochstetler has been committed to serving patients with the most modern techniques and technology.  He was the first in northern Michigan to perform all-laser LASIK (IntraLase), femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), and Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) as well as being the first to utilize a host of the most modern intraocular lens implants (IOLs).  He has special interest in Fuchs’ Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy and other corneal diseases and infections.

Dr. Hochstetler is originally from northwestern Ohio.  He and his wife feel privileged to raise their three children in Traverse City and to call it home.  Dr. Hochstetler is an avid cyclist and enjoys any time spent outdoors in beautiful Northern Michigan.

Dr. Hochstetler has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the Top 100 Cataract Surgeons in the United States for 2025. Ranked #18 out of 100.
